Care from the outside.
Support from within.
For more than 40 years, CAI-PAN has been associated with practical animal care. We are now developing a complementary feed supplement programme for dairy cows and calves — guided by the same purpose: animal well-being, inspired by nature.
The right nutritional focus.
At the moments that matter.
Calving, early lactation, breeding and the first weeks of life bring different nutritional demands. Our development programme is built around these stages.
A cow’s requirements change as milk production begins. Energy intake, mineral supply and the overall ration all matter during this transition. For calves, a good start also depends on colostrum, regular feeding, water, suitable housing and close observation.
Our aim is to develop practical bolus concepts that fit into a wider feeding and care programme. Calcium, phosphorus, energy and reproductive nutrition form the planned focus for dairy cows. Digestive, respiratory and energy-related nutritional support are the planned focus for calves.
The following areas describe our planned programme. Formulations, product names, application guidance and launch dates will be shared as development progresses.
Supporting the transition.
Looking towards the next cycle.
Calcium / Around calving
Calcium demand rises as milk production starts. Our planned calcium bolus concept focuses on nutritional calcium support around calving, an important area in the management of low blood calcium and milk fever risk.
Phosphorus / Mineral supply
Phosphorus is involved in normal energy metabolism as well as bone structure. Our planned phosphorus bolus concept focuses on targeted phosphorus supply where there is a nutritional need, considered alongside the whole ration.
Energy / Early lactation
Energy demand can increase faster than feed intake after calving. Our planned energy bolus concept focuses on supplementary energy supply during demanding periods, as part of an appropriate feeding programme.
Breeding / Reproductive nutrition
Reproductive performance is influenced by nutrition, body condition, health and management. Our planned fertility-focused bolus concept is being developed around nutritional support for the breeding phase.
A good start.
Care through demanding stages.
Digestive support
A planned calf concept for nutritional support during digestive challenges, including periods associated with diarrhoea. Maintaining fluid, electrolyte and energy balance remains central to calf care.
Respiratory support
A planned calf concept focused on nutritional support for respiratory well-being during demanding rearing stages. Housing, ventilation, hygiene and veterinary herd management remain essential.
Energy & vitality
A planned calf energy bolus concept for supplementary nutritional support during periods of increased demand or reduced intake, considered alongside the calf’s normal feeding programme.
These are development concepts, not confirmed product benefits. Final use and product claims will depend on the formulations and supporting evidence. Feed supplements complement appropriate feeding and husbandry; calves or cows showing signs of illness need veterinary assessment.
